Philosophy
Rooted Counselling Services was created with the belief that healing is a journey, and every individual deserves a space to be seen, heard, and understood. Lara’s approach is deeply client-centered, meaning she tailors the sessions to your unique needs while ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout the process.
Intigrating evidence-based therapeutic methods with compassionate and an understanding approach to help you grow through life’s challenges.
If you are living with any of the following life challenges and mental health conditions, I’ll be able to support you:
Anxiety - making changes towards feeling at ease about the future raising your children or in your career through skill building and anxiety reducing tools.
Stress - learning how to let go of wondering if you are doing the right thing as a parent and finding the confidence in the career path that you have chosen as a professional.
Caregiver/Parenting burnout - are you trying to juggle a demanding career while also raising a gifted or 2e child, or serving as a caregiver for loved ones? Let’s give you the tools to balance both of these worlds.
Burnout from work - learning how to distinguish stress from burnout and how self-care can be incorporated into your lifestyle and the demands of work or parenting.
Relationship struggles - parenting gifted and 2e children can put pressure on the relationships between parents, other family members, and friends. Learn how to navigate these relationships to build more trust through setting healthier boundaries.
Unwanted habits around shopping, gaming, cellphone use, substance and alcohol use - in difficult situations, sometimes unwanted habits serve us well to avoid the stress or to “numb out” to avoid the uncomfortable emotions. Learning how to manage the stress helps to manage these unwanted habits and behaviours.
Career changes (or the desire to change careers) - if the attempted changes in the workplace do not allow for a more balanced lifestyle, career change might be the answer to better mental health. We discuss how this looks and work through any obstacles that may be standing in the way of the more positive change.
