You’ll start with a warm check-in: how you’ve been, what’s on your mind, and practical updates (sleep, meds, major events). The therapist asks curious, open questions and listens without judgment. Together you’ll set a session goal and focus on one or two doable topics—exploring feelings, spotting patterns, practicing a coping skill, or reflecting on a hard interaction.

Expect talking plus active work: reflections, reframing unhelpful thoughts, breathing or grounding exercises, role-play, or behavioral experiments. You’ll plan small, realistic steps to try between sessions and decide what to notice or track. Sessions are confidential (with standard legal exceptions), paced to your comfort, and aligned with your values.

At the end you’ll review what helped, summarize takeaways or homework, and set the focus for next time so you leave with clearer perspective and practical tools.
